G.11
Geneva 11
Ottawa 510 × M.26
Cornell University / USDA-ARS, USA, 1998
Developed by the Cornell-Geneva breeding program, the Geneva 11 (G.11) rootstock is a premier choice for high-density apple orchards. Exhibiting low vigor similar to M9T337, it restricts mature tree size to roughly 30% to 35% of a standard seedling. Its growth practices mandate permanent trellis support and consistent irrigation due to a dwarfed root architecture. G.11 is highly precocious, encouraging rapid, early cropping. Notably, it provides excellent resistance to fire blight and Phytophthora root rot, along with moderate tolerance to Apple Replant Disease, though it remains susceptible to woolly apple aphids.
