History & Origin: Discovered in Ohio, USA, by grower Shirley Simmons as a limb sport on an early-coloring Gala block. It became one of the foundational solid-blush strains. Qualities & Sizing: Celebrated for its highly predictable, early full-blush pattern with zero prominent striping. Because it colors so early, growers in India frequently risk picking it too early before it has reached its full structural sizing potential. Climate & Color Stability: Historically popular in lower-altitude or warm-night regions because its full-blush genetics trigger color more reliably than older striped variants. However, if exposed to excessive monsoon-induced tree vigor, interior canopy shading can still cause the solid blush to fade into a dull, washed-out pink.
