History & Origin: Developed in Italy by the CIV (Consorzio Italiano Vivaisti), T-Rex is a next-generation patented clone selected from intensive field evaluations of Gala mutations. Qualities & Sizing: Marketed heavily for addressing small fruit size, exhibiting strong tree vigor and pushing a good sizing curve. Structurally, it drives a more elongated, tighter, truncated-cone fruit profile. While it naturally improves size, its longer shape means it can sometimes be outpaced in pure lateral diameter and box weight by blockier strains like Schnico Red. Climate & Color Stability: It colors very early into a brilliant 100% full-red blush, providing good color safety against warm late-summer blocks. Its higher tree vigor means you must manage the monsoon vegetative growth carefully to keep light reaching the interior wood.
